We would like to announce the call for papers for the fifth semi-annual Southern California Comparative Political Institutions (SC2PI) conference at University of California, Riverside from 11am-5pm on May 3, 2013. The conference series rotates among institutions in Southern California, bringing together scholars interested in the quantitative and formal study of political institutions.
We are interested in papers on political institutions broadly speaking, whether focused on a comparative analysis of political institutions or the effects of particular political institutions on individual behavior.
Faculty and advanced graduate students are invited to submit papers. If you have a paper you would like to present, please provide a paper title and abstract by April 1, 2013 via email to scpi_ucr@scpi.politicaldata.org. Graduate students should also indicate how far along in their program they are. Please also respond if you are interested in serving as a discussant or simply attending the conference. Announcement about paper acceptances and the conference program will be distributed through the SC2PI email list – you can sign up for the email alerts at http://www.scpi.politicaldata.org/.
The first four conferences in the series (held at UC-Riverside, UCLA, USC, Claremont Graduate University) have been very successful. We hope to continue that success and look forward to seeing you on May 3rd.
